Travel Trainer App

The Flagstaff Group is proud to introduce Travel Trainer, an innovative road safety app and online platform designed specifically for people with a disability.

Travel Trainer empowers people to travel confidently and safely, whether driving, riding a bike, using public transport or navigating roads as a pedestrian.

With an accessible, engaging and inclusive design, Travel Trainer supports people to build independence and move through the world safely.

This project has been proudly funded by Transport for NSW through the Community Road Safety Grants.

Walk Safely

Travel Trainer's Walk module provides simple, easy to follow road safety tips for people who travel on foot. Using Easy English instructions, it covers everything from crossing roads safely to navigating footpaths and intersections, helping people with disability build confidence as pedestrians.

Bike Safely

The Bike module helps people with disability learn how to ride safely on roads and shared paths. It covers the road rules for cyclists, how to stay visible to other road users, and practical tips for getting from A to B by bike with confidence and independence.

Bus or Train

The Bus or Train module guides people through using public transport safely and independently. It covers how to plan a journey, read timetables, board and exit vehicles safely, and navigate stations and stops, supporting people to get around their community with greater confidence.

Car, Taxi or Uber

The Car, Taxi or Uber module provides practical road safety information for people travelling as passengers. It covers how to travel safely in a vehicle, how to book and use rideshare and taxi services, and what to do if something goes wrong, empowering people to make safe choices when using private transport.

Smart & Safe

Smart and Safe is an initiative to keep people with disability safe in all aspects of their life, particularly road safety.

Everyday our participants come to work and activities – some use a bike, drive a car, catch a bus or train or walk. Unfortunately, there are accidents in everyone’s life.

This program is specifically designed to help people with a disability be safe in their community.

This educational program is funded by Transport for NSW. We would like to thank the Illawarra Police and Shoalhaven City Council for their support for the program.
